Been back a week from Mt. Shasta

I miss our friends up there the most but second I miss the weather because the weather is about 69 to 74 degrees almost every day for the next week there which is pretty nice whereas where we live on the coast it is about 58 every day and 52 to 54 every night. So, it is overcast a lot. So, I miss now the rain and snow as well as the sun of Mt. Shasta. However, in July and August it can get pretty hot there too. The average day temperatures in Mt. Shasta are between 83 to 86 on average. However, it can be over 100 degrees often in July and August too.

Remember my stories of blizzards and hail on mt. Shasta in August. Just remember when hiking to take something warmer so you don't freeze to death in the blizzards or snow above 6000 to 8000 feet on Mt. Shasta in August, for example. So, even though it can be 100 degrees in town you might freeze to death above 6000 to 8000 feet on the mountain any time of year including in August. So, always be prepared for anything including white outs (where you cannot see your hand in front of your face and cannot navigate at all without some kind of satellite GPS device then.

So, be prepared any time of year you go there so you can enjoy the mountain and and still survive being there!
