I personally wouldn't call these the "End Times"

 When the stock market collapsed caused by Herbert Hoover just like Trump through tariffs is doing the same thing now people likely thought (these are the end times) especially those who bought stocks on margin and jumped out of buildings in New York to their deaths.

However, if people survived the stock market Collapse and they survived the Great Depression and they survived World war II like my parents did who were born in 1916 and 1919 they just took all this as a matter of course.

Did this harm them going through this?

I don't think it helped them and my mother told me a saying of those times: 

"Do what you can and the rest can".

Which basically means: "Do what you can and stuff the rest" which greatly shortened many people's lives from 1929 until 1950 especially.

However, the other way to look at this is my father passed away in 1985 and my mother in 2008 at age 90.

So, was this period the Apocalypse?

I guess for those who died it might have been but not for all the survivors.

I think the same thing is going on now!
