The problem as I see it is how violence was in the 1950s. People often think people were more violent than now which I think is true but in a different way than now.
Basically the thing that reduced murders a lot in the 1950s is that people who used guns were socially ostracized if they used them on people. So, mostly only the Mafia used machine guns like Tommy Guns against each other then. You were completely ostracized where no one would speak to you at all in the 1950s if you used a gun on someone.
The difference being now people often use machine guns and automatic weapons on each other worldwide and use all sorts of guns.
But then, unless you used your fists or knives in the 1950s you were thought a weakling to use a gun on someone. So, unless you were a girl protecting herself you were thought to be a weakling of some kind to use a gun on someone ever.
This then prevented a lot of murders at least men murdering each other because of this extreme social isolation if you used a gun on someone as a man unless you were in battle in a war.
However, now all these constraints have mostly gone away as people have become more insane and less humane in their actions in the U.S. and around the world.
Because of this I can see how people will use "flying hand grenade Drones" on soldiers who are walking "Anywhere" until they are all dead or using Fiber optics to blow up soldiers miles away from the operator of the drone.
Because of these technological advances and lack of present morality around guns I'm afraid killing people is going to increase exponentially now with drones used by Countries and Drug Cartels with thousands of people killed in various executions of whole populations like you see now in Ukraine and Gaza and Lebanon and Iran. This is the road to human extinction eventually unless a new way of functioning begins now for the whole human race.
