By the way, Timber Tech is a good plastic wood manufacturer and reduced the cost by 1/2 or more from trying to put in Redwood to replace our old redwood deck.
What do I like the most about a plastic Redwood colored plastic wood deck. I like that most of the year I can walk on it barefoot without getting slivers from the Redwood deck we used to have here from 1999 until a few years ago when we installed our redwood colored plastic deck made by Timber Tech.
What do I like the least about it?
Days like today where I burn my feet on the solar heated plastic wood Deck. This didn't happen I don't believe with the redwood deck but does with the plastic wood deck. So, at least when it's not summer time the sun isn't bright enough or hot enough to burn my feet or my dogs feet on this deck except during the summers when the sun is bright enough or hot enough.
Though the temperature on line says it's 64 degrees I'm not sure I believe it because my wife says her car thermometer was showing 77 degrees in our driveway.
When my youngest daughter moved to Texas a few years ago and met her boyfriend she lives with thereu
now she left her beach umbrella here at the house. So, I took a 3/4 inch plastic water pipe and it fit in the main shaft or the beach umbrella perfectly. So, I drilled a hole the size of the pipe through an 8 foot 2 by 4 stud made of douglas fir that I had in my garage and found I could mount it above my hot tub so I didn't get sunburned in the sun any day the sun was out which is helpful at this age because I have to worry some about Skin Cancer since around 1995 from the sun.
However, what is strange here on the northern Coast of California is that you are more likely here to get skin cancer on a cloudy day than on a sunny day. Why?
Because on a sunny day you know you are getting cooked by the sun but on a cloudy day you don't realize you are possibly getting skin cancer through the clouds but since you don't burn your skin like you would in the sun you might not know this. But here when it is cloudy the most (during the summers on the Northern California coast here this is a problem.
