Medicare can be amazing at 65 and older

 The retired Doctor across the street from us said: "Isn't Medicare Amazing" one day and my response was:"Yes".

Because Medicare really is amazing.

However, it is also true that for full medical insurance at age 64 I was paying 1800 dollars a month for this. And my wife is younger than me but she also was paying 1800 dollars a month for full medical insurance when she was 64 too.

So, often times staying alive for people is very tricky between the ages of 50 and 64 at the the very least because how many of you out there can actually afford 1800 dollars a month for full health insurance?

However, if you live in California we have what is called Medi-Cal which is health insurance through the state if your income is low enough spread through all your dependents. So, many people who own homes or businesses are still at a low enough per capita income because of dependents to make it only Medi-Cal in California which is a good thing because it keeps many people alive and keeps them from dying here in California.

So, the combination of Medi-Cal before age 65 and then Medicare After Age 65 keeps people alive pretty well if people actually know how to use it properly state wide here in California. 

However, you have to be a resident of California for 1 year before you might qualify for Medi-Cal.
