This appears to be more what we are going to see the next few years with literally hundreds of thousands of people trying to cross the Ocean to Europe from the middle East. I think mostly it is middle Class educated people that are refugees now. Poorer people likely wouldn't make this journey because it would just be too alien for them and their chance of survival of this journey would be so low they likely would prefer to die in their own country instead. So, people educated enough to make this journey with enough money to actually pay people to get them there alive or dead would be the people traveling now. But, the conditions in Syria, Libya and Yemen and other places I think over the next few years literally millions of middle class people are going to make the journey (whether they live or die on the way) to Europe. And at least half of them won't make it or more for various reasons, the most obvious reasons will be starving, drowning, lack of potable water, and exhaustion and exposure to heat or cold.
I think the last year at least 400,000 people have survived the crossing from the Middle east and are planning to stay in Europe legally or illegally whether they die or not. And possibly at least as many tried and died along the way for one reason or another.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
