I was listening to someone speaking on Fahreed Zacharia's GPS on CNN today

 And he was saying that we can protect the president because it is just one person.

However, we Cannot protect our water systems from cyberattack from Iran because there are over 51,000 different municipal Water systems in the U.S. 

From my point of view it would be like protecting 50,000 presidents of the U.S. which really cannot be done because most of these water systems really have no budget for security in the first place. 

So, as a result you won't know what is really happening until people are dying or in the hospital all over the U.S. like they are now from cyclosporiasis  at this point at least.
