I understand what it is like to be in a minority religion

I was raised in a mystical Christian Sect. We believed like many early Christians that we (through Reincarnation evolve to become like Jesus over time. We also believed in Saint Germain as a master that Ascended like Jesus in 1684 so they were now brothers working together. I was taught that Saint Germain in his last lifetime before Ascending Was Francis Bacon "The Father of the Scientific Method" as well and that he eventually became the Comte De Saint Germain over time in France and knew Louis XIV, XV and XVI and Marie Antoinette all in a single lifetime and like Jesus he never died either.

So, although we were Christian in our belief system other things most other Christians might not believe in we believed in too. So, in the 1950s I knew enough not to describe my religion with anyone I didn't trust with my life. Because most people in the 1950s were what I would call "Rabid Christians" which means that if you weren't their version of perfect Christian it might be dangerous to talk about your religion very much. So, in theory America Represented "Freedom in Religion" but in reality saying you believed in something different from some people might get you killed or at least beat up pretty good.

So, you really had to watch who you talked to about your belief systems in the 1950s because it was much more dangerous then to talk about religion even if your religion was Catholic or Baptist or Lutheran, people might be offended and come to blows with your or you might lose your job then if you weren't your employers brand of religion whatever that was.

So, we have come a long way from then of course, but look what some people are still doing to Muslims here in this country.

Look at what Trump has said about keeping all Muslims out of this country if he is elected President to show you how crazy some people still are in this way.

This country was founded on the principle of "Freedom of Religion for all". And if we don't live up to this it  is no fault but our own as a nation.

You can believe you are God. You can believe the moon is made of green cheese. You can believe whatever you want to as long as you don't force on pain of death other people to believe like you do, because then someone is just going to shoot you or beat you up. (Americans are very well armed for this sort of thing by the way). Or in the old days they would ride you out of town on a rail and tar and feather you. (They really did this to people).

So, if we don't act responsibly and allow freedom of religion to be a real thing then we shouldn't expect our religion (whatever it is to be respected either). In a sense every religion is a minority religion. (People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones).
