Democracy is not in Crisis. Democracy is alive and well. Witness first the Tea Party movement and now the Occupy Wall Street movement. No. Democracy is still very alive and very well thank you very much.
However, Capitalism as it tries to morph into feudalism through state sponsored capitalism is definitely in crisis. Ever since China and Saudi Arabia began championing State sponsored capitalism how can laissez faire capitalism compete with that? The answer is: unless everyone plays by the same rules it won't be fair. There will be no level playing field anymore. And there isn't.
So, capitalism is in crisis because there is no one set of rules to live by for all countries. When you think about it democracy and capitalism are just rules to a game we are all playing. So if someone breaks the rules and begins to cheat you only have two choices: first you change the rules or you punish those who break the rules. Neither of these things has happened yet. So what is left is a real mess that no one knows how to easily find a permanent solution to at present.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
