The reason that Globalism is a paradox is imagine if Alcohol also could be used for food and you could replace everything else in your diet with Alcoholic beverages for food.
This is likely the best analogy for globalism that I can come up with unless it was cocaine that would also be food. A little of it might be helpful more than hurtful but a lot of it will kill you and everyone else on earth.
Let me give you some examples. Any educated person who has really studied Globalism will tell you that it destroys nation states and destroys individual privacy. And not only the privacy of the average person but also the privacy of literally all world leaders and could lead to something like what happened to Qaddhaffi for literally every leader as well as people of every income level on earth.
Here are some of the reasons people want it worldwide: It brings the most for the least. In other words people can buy the cheapest of anything they want over the Internet which puts out of business local businesses in developed nations around the world. It also causes the development of undeveloped nations because of this.
People want it because it is the great equalizer. It allows a child in Africa for example, to have more access to information than President Clinton did while he was President of the United States just by owning an Iphone with internet Access or some other smartphone.
So, even though it is destroying all nations by preventing them from taxing goods properly or being able to monitor what is being bought and sold between countries, and even though it has and will continue to make absolutely nothing private that ever happens on earth. (In fact, in California technology is being developed right now to know not only whatever someone does every moment but also what they are thinking about every moment.
Globalization will also tend to create a one world government that takes away all freedom even to think freely from all citizens.
This is all a part of globalization and it will get much worse and many countries will have "Thought Police" to prevent people from thinking certain thoughts (like overthrowing the government). This is coming through globalization now and in the future.
So, though globalization makes goods cheaper while destroying developed economies by sending business to undeveloped economies and educates literally everyone on earth who has a smartphone regarding literally anything they want to know, it also takes away all freedoms which are the basis of what privacy is all about.
Globalization eventually strips away ALL FREEDOMS from everyone including nations.
So, what this means is that the paradox of globalization is the extinction of mankind if left to the end.
So, though we might be able to survive temporary globalization, permanent globalization will logically be the end of all life on earth.
Later: However, in the very short run 25 to 50 years it could be a way to equalize humanity and to educate the masses of the Earth and to Create a One World Government if that was someone's goal.
But, the cost is horrendous too because it will be the loss of all rights of human beings over time and the decline of the developed nations even as undeveloped nations begin to prosper more. So, in some ways it is the great equalizer and in other ways it is the end of human civilization at least as we have known it to be so far.
So, likely you are going to see a great push back in the near and far future and Wikileaks is one way to end Globalization because Wikileaks ends government secrecy so likely we will see much more of this kind of thing in the future.
My hope is that it can be thrown off in some way or another so humanity can actually survive the next few centuries with enough privacy and freedoms intact to actually choose to be alive at all.
This is very important because it only takes one group of 1000 individuals or less to nuke earth completely out of existence if they really aren't happy with what is going on on earth.
So, Globalization slowly going away might save us all from extinction in this way too.
