The Zombie effect: or Life without Purpose

My way of seeing this would be that there are people whose lives have purpose and there are people whose lives have no purpose at all. And all of us likely would believe that people have the right to do either.

However, I think my premise here is that when there are too many people whose life has no purpose at all, civilization collapses. I would say that this is the premise I'm going for. Or maybe a better way to put this is civilization as we know it would cease to exist if and when a majority of those people have no purpose in their lives.

definition of purpose:
pur·pose
ˈpərpəs/
noun
noun: purpose; plural noun: purposes
  1. 1.
the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
"the purpose of the meeting is to appoint a trustee"
synonyms:motive, motivation, grounds, cause, occasion, reason, point, basis, justification More
    "the purpose of his visit"

"If we are facing in the right direction all we have to do is keep walking"- Buddhist Proverb

My daughter had this on her calendar and it seemed perfect to combat the "Zombie" effect which is presently destroying civilization as we know it.

The Zombie effect often comes into people when they don't believe in God, Buddha, nature, themselves or anything.

At this point life becomes meaningless mostly except in rare moments and instances.

I think civilization in the end is based upon "The common Good" more than God, religions, Buddha, nature or anything else. Civilization in the end exists ONLY for the common good of all of us. If it has any alterior purpose that part of civilization likely will be destroyed by one or many people eventually through riots and fires etc.

So then, the "Zombie effect" is in reality one of the permanent destroyers of civilization and technology cannot (at this point) exist without civilizations of humans here on earth. At some future point theoretically a robotic civilization might replace us humans if we are really stupid but I hope that doesn't happen.

As long as some of us can see what is actually going on those of us can prevent (in one way or another) the destruction of human civilization here on earth.

So, let us think how people started to become "Zombies" or purposeless.

Most people think these days that God and religion is purposeless often that I see or meet. However, if you actually study religions around the world they are actually the very basis of all civilizations. Without religions originally no civilization would have ever come into being.

However, the next question that must be asked is: "Are any of the religions on earth true or valid?"
This question cannot be properly answered. The reason it cannot be properly answered is that in the end religions are subjective in nature they are not objective reality because they are based upon people's dreams and stories told to them as children growing up. So, the basis of all religions are not necessarily facts but dream realities which may or may not comfort people. So, these stories either comfort or terrify people into acting certain ways.

When all belief of those stories becomes rejected by enough people then sometimes people become zombies, alcoholics, drug abusers, child molesters, murderers and worse.

So, people who are zombies are anti-civilization. Sometimes these people are anarchists as well. Though I understand the purpose of anarchy it also tends to be self defeating as well. Without some kind of useful structure or governmental system order collapses. It is the same thing in microcosm when a family (father, mother and children and extended family) collapses and children are left to fend for themselves on the streets. This is anarchy in action at a child level. And usually this child is raped or becomes a rapist eventually because of those rapes and often can never be a functional member of society as a direct result of these terrifying experiences that they have growing up. If they ever do grow up.

As more and more people reject ALL religions directly because of religious extremists who commit suicide while killing others in the name of their God, more and more (by the millions) young people say to themselves: "All religious people are crazy because of those people who kill themselves for their religion."

And indirectly and directly because of this more zombies are created without a purpose.

However, purpose can come from many different directions. It can come from nature. It can come from feeling compassion for all beings. It can come from just meeting the people in your church. It can come from meeting and getting to know the people in your community. It can come in all sorts of ways.

But Zombies are created in the vein of hopelessness and a complete lack of order which often results in the end of life by 30 years of age for many people. If people can get past age 30 often they figure out a purpose in life or a way to help themselves or others to give more meaning to their lives.

Note: If you haven't seen "The World's End"  movie yet don't read the next paragraph if you ever intend to see it.

One of the movies I like which illustrates some of this "computer Robotic Zombie" kind of thinking is: "The World's End". So, even though this is an incredibly funny movie it is also a very serious movie too in many ways even if in a metaphorical sense. Because it illustrates how robotic zombie thinking creates the end of civilization as we know it.
