Elon Musk: One of the saviors of the developed world in these times?
When I look at what Elon Musk is trying to do both as an intuitive and as a technologist (one who studies technology) I see him as one of the potential saviors of the developed world worldwide.
If I look at what is presently happening in the middle east it is very likely during the next 10 to 20 years that there will be moderate to severe reductions in the flow of oil to the rest of the world from the middle east.
So, if there aren't cars, trucks, even buses and trains with solar panels built into them or arrays of panels on almost every house, civilization will grind to a halt in all countries that haven't developed enough technology or who have access to it that is not oil driven or natural gas driven.
If you look at the price of gasoline right now in Northern California where i live in the past week I have already paid $4.49 a gallon for gas a one stop between Mt. Shasta and the SF bay area. Though my average price for a gallon of regular over the last month has likely been about $4.15 to $4.25 a gallon, still most people just cannot afford to even drive to work with gas that expensive unless they are driving a plug in Prius or something like that. This is just reality. We have kept the gas prices lower in the U.S. in California by buying at least 10% new hybrids like Priuses and other cars. My wife's doctor drives a Tesla and many doctors and lawyers in California either drive a Tesla or hybrid Lexus or other cars that are hybrids in California. In this California is the cutting edge of the future for the world.
So, during the next 10 to 20 years or more we are going to see countries that cannot afford to go solar or wind falling by the wayside and overtaken by countries that have gone Solar, wind and hydrogen fuel cell (hydrogen in the future could also be taken along with oxygen from water wherever it is on earth). So, it could be that hydrogen replaces oil as the fuel of choice here on earth. So, as long as we still have enough to drink and for fish to swim in we might still be okay.
