U.S. thinking of giving weapons to Ukraine is somewhat logical

The problem of giving weapons to Ukraine publicly is extreme. Because publicly giving weapons could start a nuclear war eventually.

So, what Putin does is lie about the Russian Army fighting the Ukrainian Army. He also lies about Peace treaties. This is how he is getting away with arming Ukrainian rebels and continuing to take over territory.

However, remember Putin is a retired? KGB Colonel (or is he still a KGB colonel or General now?)
Because a major part of KGB training is how to successfully lie to your opponents.

Do you think the CIA or NSA or FBI never lies to anyone?

Spy stuff is never about the truth it is about which countries survive in the end. So, arming Ukraine likely cannot be done out in the open for this reason unless we want another Cuban Missile Crisis with Russia.

Their economy might be collapsing but they still have enough nukes to kill everyone on earth several times over still. Let's not forget that.

So, maybe arming Ukraine soldiers should be done by not arming them with U.S. Weapons but instead maybe buying some other countries manufactured weapons (maybe even Russian or British or Pakistani or even East Indian Weapons through the black market and giving them to the Ukrainian army without saying anything to anyone about it.

So, even though we would be liars like Putin, maybe this is the only way to stop Putin. So, clandestinely arming Ukraine to protect the rest of Europe makes a lot of sense. (Even if it is the European Union doing this (or Great Britain) instead of the U.S.).
