Summer desert Monsoon rains hitting northern Arizona, Las Vegas up to Tahoe
I was curious what kind of weather is happening around the western U.S. where I live and saw the rains hitting from Indian Reservations in Arizona on up through Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe. Like I've said before if you don't live in the western United States and are just visiting be very careful when it rains in the deserts around mountains because of potential extreme flash flooding in some cases. Even if the rain clouds are 50 to 100 miles away if there is a dry riverbed near you you could be in trouble eventually. In the deserts there is nothing to make rain go underground much so it just rushes headlong across the landscape and God help you if you or your vehicle is in the way of this mess of debris and water often several feet high rushing along very quickly. And often it can end just as quickly but that doesn't matter if you are dead or injured from it in the interim. So please be watchful and careful if you aren't used to living in this kind of environment all the time.
