How can Russia, China and the U.S. and the rest of the western world co-exist?

I recently wrote this article:I think Obama is right

And I believe now that he is right that thinking in Cold War Ways is not really useful now and that instead we need to think about how we can all co-exist in the short and long term.

If we think like Russia and China do now that a war between them and the U.S. and NATO is inevitable then we are erroneously thinking because such a war can only annihilate the Earth and all upon it.

So, Obama is right in thinking that we cannot return to Cold War ways of thinking without triggering another Nuclear event or events.

So, Detente is one way but Russia for now is an economically declining state. Some say both Russia and England are declining states. I'm not sure quite how to view this today.

To say that Putin and Trump are each very macho and not very deep on this subject is an understatement. To say that Obama single handedly has prevented another Nuclear event is likely true with the help of all the others who agree with him.

Israel's position likely could bring about the end of Earth in trying to survive. Iran's position could bring about the end of Earth too. So, we all should be mindful of this.

Putin's position is mostly about keeping him in power. So, we should expect he will do something to try to raise the price of oil if he can even if this is a military action.

I don't think he really cares what happens to ISIS in Syria at all. What he cares about is the port of Tartus that he has on agreement with Assad which is one of two warm water ports that he has the other one being in the recently taken Crimea. All his other ports freeze solid with ice in the winter time.

However, I think Putin cares if ISIS fighters from Chechnya return to Russia to Chechnya further trained in battle by ISIS.

So, thinking in Cold War terms now likely will only bring about the end of the Earth so finding a new  way where war that would bring nuclear weapons into play doesn't happen like it did in Hiroshima and Nagasaki once again.

The U.S. should find a way not to have to nuke Beijing or Moscow or Tehran just to survive as a nation.

Because Cold War thinking will inevitable take us there. Also, the way Russians and Chinese and Iranians presently think is going to end the Earth eventually too.

So, Russians and Chinese and Iranians need to think about what Obama has tried to do too to not end the earth with nukes.
