Secretary of Defense Ash Carter has said that we now are going to arm Moderate Syrian Rebels and the Kurds because both of these are fighting ISIS. So, we are specifically arming people who will kill ISIS fighters.
This is in line (to some degree) with Russia (who is killing moderate Syrian Rebels) and IRan who is killing all ISIS now with their Army in Syria. (The evidence of this is the 3rd Iranian General being killed by ISIS which happened this week in Syria. So, to some degree (sort of) Russia and Iran are on the same page but only in regard to the U.S., Russia and Iran all wanting ISIS to go away (at least from Syria). So, thousands of Iranians soldiers and Syrians are dying right now and locked in battle while Russian jets bomb Syrian Rebels and ISIS in some ways is moving into vaccuums of Syrian rebels created by Russian bombing of moderate rebels. So, ISIS appears in many places to be moving closer and closer to Assad's territory.
So, both Russia and ISIS might be pretty good at Asymmetric warfare just like the U.S. is through Navy Seals, Army Rangers and Delta force Black ops in general all over the world.
So, the best thing to say about all this is: Truth is much stranger than fiction.
So, the movies that will be made from all the true stories now that will be made about 5 to 10 years from now really will be beyond belief on multiple levels.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
