My wife and youngest daughter wanted to watch watch Ex Machina on Amazon Prime through our Roku through our 60 inch flat screen in the living room. I had seen it before with a friend and was interested in their reaction to this movie. I wasn't sure whether a female perspective of this movie would be as difficult as I found this movie to watch. For example, I had a really hard time separating myself from the robots because they were so human like. So, you find yourself thinking about them as humans rather than robots. This spurred a long conversation between my wife and daughter so I realized how well the human robot interactions were depicted in this movie.
Here are Asimov's 3 rules of Robotics which should have been taught to the robots in this movie.
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.[1]
