The two "Catch 22" countries of the Middle East: Syria and Yemen

If you wanted to be more exact likely you could also add Iraq and Libya to these "Catch 22" countries.

What I mean by "Catch 22" is it is sort of  "Damned if you do and damned if you don't". In other words there are no easy answers or even "Sides" to these wars. They are both like Black Holes in space swallowing bodies by the hundreds and thousands now and in the past and on into the future.

There will be likely no easy way to end the wars in Syria because of all the harm done to all sides in these wars. They are both Proxy wars for both Iran and Saudi Arabia. In Syria, Iran and Iraq it is the Shia Muslims who either are in control or who soon will be. In Yemen it is Saudi Arabia and all it's Sunni Muslim neighbors who are genociding anyone supporting the Houthi Shia Muslims there.

So, we have Shia Muslims genociding all Sunnis in Syria and we have ISIS genociding anyone who isn't Sunni in Syria and Iraq.

Then we have Sunni Muslims genociding anyone Houthi who is Shia. And neither of these conflicts look like they are going away anytime soon and both Syria and Yemen likely will get much worse before they get better for a variety of reasons.

So, even when ISIS has no more territory it will not be over anymore than Al Qaeda is over after Bin Laden was executed.

So, Syria and Yemen and to a lesser degree Iraq and Libya will likely to continue to be sort of Black Holes sucking lives into them ongoing for some time to come for a variety of reasons.

There doesn't seem to be a way to stop all this at least for now.

However, if you look at the primary cause it would be overpopulation caused by the lack of birth control since the 1960s in that area with not enough water or tillable land to feed the locals.

If humanity learns the lesson of the middle East maybe it won't repeat this mistake all over the globe as time moves forward in this century and the next ones.
