The problem is for democracies in some ways "The damage is already done" by all in the information out there now.
There is enough information out there on most people to destroy the results of the elections in most democracies on earth already.
It will take a HERCULEAN effort of all Democracies to protect themselves (especially the U.S. from being incredibly harmed in the 2018 and 2020 elections like we were by Trump and others being elected through Putin's antics through Facebook and Cambridge Analytica.
So, I agree delete your Facebook accounts to prevent your own identity thefts and harm to you and to your families.
However, then it is about keeping all democracies intact though because of all the information out there on billions of people already through Facebook worldwide and what nefarious uses it will be put to the next 10 or 20 years even if you DO delete your accounts now.
But, by deleting your accounts and various other things you can do likely you won't have identity theft or theft of your business ideas.
In other words if you delete your Facebook account it is less likely you will be financially ruined during the next 10 or 20 years.
However, it is just as likely your democracy and all your rights as a citizen of a democratic country could also be gone through Facebook and companies like Cambridge Analytica.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
