Dualism is NOT practical as an adult

If you are training a small child not to run out the front door of your house so they aren't hit by a car dualism works fine if you spank them to prevent their deaths.

However, as an adult most things are not good or bad, up or down they are various shades of grey. So, the whole concept of good and bad is never absolute about 90% of the time as an adult.

For example, is rain good or bad? is snow Good or bad? Is wind Good or bad? Is direct sunlight good or bad?

That's right it will be many things to many different people and anyone you meet often is like this too.

Is this person a good person?

How do you define good?

What race are they?

Do you consider this race good?

What is Good?

Are they the same religion as you?

If not are they good people?

Dualism just doesn't work as an adult to be useful in any way at all to you.

So, what do you replace dualism with?

I have found what you replace dualism with is compassion for all life.

This doesn't mean you let people or animals harm you in any way by the way.

You are compassionate not stupid.

It just means you start at a place of compassion first.

By doing this you give all beings a chance to stay alive.

You give all beings a chance to prove themselves to you that they are worth leaving alone and alive, whether they are a spider or a fly, a rat or a mouse, a bird or a cat or a dog or a human.

So, you start with compassion towards their existence and then you let them prove to you whether you can allow them to stay alive or not.

So, you don't start with fear or hate you start with the fact that they are a living being just like you are.

And by doing this you give all life a chance to prove itself to you.

So, though as an adult dualism is not practical, Compassion is a practical and pragmatic way to start by giving each living thing a chance to stay alive around you.
