This is the essence not only of True Freedom but also of all democracies on earth. Without people realizing that the Freedoms you have now are always hard fought and hard won.
We would not have the United States of America unless our forefathers got out their long rifles and shot the redcoats which wanted to prevent us from having our own country. It was not that the Redcoats were bad it was that Mad King George III was crazy.
So, because he was crazy it forced Americans to rebel to keep their rights as free men and women. As a result the United States was born. If there were not a Crazy and Mad King then likely there would have been no reason to create the United States of America.
So, the world has been different ever since.
But then like now "Freedom is Responsibility". It is the responsibility of the electorate to educate themselves and to rise up and to protect our democracy from all enemies both within and without America.
Freedom is the responsibility to guard our freedoms so they won't be stolen one by one by enemies either within the U.S. or outside of us or a combination of both.
