After reading the last article on Conservatives winning the culture war

I see all this in a completely different context. From my point of view progress is two steps forward and one step back. Trump is the one step back (sort of like climbing a mountain and walking up on shale or loose rocks) so for every two steps forward it is always one step back. Rather than seeing this as good or bad I see this just as just basic physics and mechanics of life here on earth.

I see it as common sense reality that goes far far beyond any idealism or ideals. It is just survival 101 here on earth.

Conservatives hold onto the past for dear life. They are against progress.

Liberals want progress so much they aren't practical enough about it to succeed.

So, common sense is the parents (the conservatives) and the children with new ideas (the liberals) have to talk to each other to see what is useful to do and what is not useful to do.

To make all this some kind of war defeats both conservatives and Liberals and just kills us all (the whole culture).

So, both are necessary for a useful future. Both are necessary for our ongoing survival here on earth.
