Raising the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour might not work in some states

For example, in places like California and Oregon for example, if you work for In n Out Burgers you might start at 16 dollars an hour but if you work for minimum wage in Alabama for example, the minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. But, food and rent might be less there too, for example.

Also, for example, in Portland you might get a 2 bedroom Apartment that is nice for around $1000 a month. But, you would be hard pressed where I live on the coast of California to find even a room in a house for that price. My daughter while going to school in San Francisco only rented 1/2 of a bedroom for about 1200 a month, for example. So, the minimum wages often depend upon how much rent and food and transportation are there too.

At $7.25 an hour most people would have to live with their parents in many many states because that isn't enough to actually live most places even if you worked 40 hours at that wage.

So, the point I'm making is Minimum wages are different in states partly because of how much it costs to actually live there. And many jobs might completely disappear if jobs went to $15 dollars an hour.

So, having any job might be better than having no job at all these days for many people who are presently starving here in the U.S.
