Estrada Fire: Cal Fire builds containment overnight
Fire crews have made progress on the Estrada Fire burning in Santa Cruz County.
Cal Fire downgraded the size of the fire to 83 acres on Saturday morning. Overnight, crews built containment lines around 10% of the fire.
The fire started Friday, October 16, on Hazel Dell Road near Hidden Canyon Road after a prescribed burn at Estrada Ranch jumped containment lines.
Firefighters used favorable weather conditions to get some containment on the fire.
Evacuations are still in place in areas near Mt. Madonna County Park.
