The paradox of the Drought if you live on the California coast

On the one hand if you live 10 to 20 miles inland it is very dry. For example, the Estrada fire near Watsonville is far enough inland to have humidity as low as 15% lately especially during the day hours up on Mt. Madonna and the same as you go eastward from there.

On the other hand we have had 6 months of mostly foggy (high or low or both) weather from April to September. We are finally now getting our Indian Summer for a few days of high 70s and low 80s along the northern California coast. In fact, last December of 2020 might have been the warmest month of the year in regard to Indian Summer Weather here on the coast.

So, the forest is very very green from the fog and mist all summer from April to September. But, if we don't get some real rain pretty soon it won't be. The other thing is that I heard that our water source can only pump 2/3 of normal water so our water bill will skyrocket soon. So, this is the main problem we are dealing with here on the coast of northern California even though the forests are green and the underbrush like Ferns are also very green from all the mist and fog from April 2021 until September recently.
