Despite heavy rains in December, the humidity where this fire broke out when it happened was only 10% to 15% (Colorado fire in Big Sur)

When you have humidity this low and then winds this is when fires can start no matter what time of year it is (especially here in California. In I believe 2018 we rented a house for a month because one of our daughters was going to have a baby so when we arrived and rented this house (near Rancho Bernardo then) I was watching the news and this was like December 2017 or January 2018? maybe. And this fire started in a wind in Fallbrook nearby (just north of Escondido, California) and it burned over night all the way to Oceanside and whole neighborhoods burned down to the ground on the way there. It was a terrible night with 30 to 50 mile per hour winds where there was no way to stop this fire from lighting new places every minute or two all the way to Oceanside. Luckily, the ocean was there to stop it but I think Oceanside and the Marine Base Camp Pendleton also sent fire brigades and they were able to keep this fire from completely burning down Oceanside as a result the next day. But, it was completely out of control all night long until the next day burning all the way from Fallbrook to the outskirts of Oceanside.
