The medicine man of a North American Tribe was camping at the base of Mt. St. Helens the morning it exploded in 1980 I believe. He got up and took a pee off a cliff when the mountain exploded. The concussion of the explosion as he was peeing off a cliff threw him more than 100 feet or more into the river below him. He didn't understand what was happening and was hit with branches and trees and mud and rocks that held him underwater until he thought he was going to die. When his head finally broke the surface of the river the mountain was gone along with anyone alive in that campground. Everything was gone quickly. He climbed out of the river banged and bruised but still alive and gave thanks to God and Mother Earth for saving his life.
This is why you want to be friends with Mother Earth. What for this medicine man was an empowerment by Mother Earth he will NEVER forget changed his life forever and killed everyone else near to where the mountain blew up. He was the nearest person to the mountain when it blew up to actually survive the blast. He had to walk out of there but he lived to tell his amazing story to others.
