We try to pretend that everything is okay. We are not at war (directly at least) with any other country. There are no soldiers of ours fighting soldiers of other countries.
However, we are in an ongoing Cyber War. We are in an information war. We are struggling to survive Covid and have already lost (those who have been tested before they died) 820,000 people to Covid which is about twice the number of soldiers we lost in World War II.
So, we live in very strange times indeed.
Can we compare this to World War II?
It's a fair comparison but everything is different.
For example, even China's draconian Covid methods are not working anymore (if they ever did) and this alone could theoretically collapse China's government right there. (Although I really doubt it simply because they have already been through about 6000 years of similar things already without fundamentally changing their dictatorial Emperor system in any major way. They want to tell you that Communism changed everything but from my point of view nothing has really changed from the old Emperors of China through Mao to Xi. However, the Capitolism of
