I thought I would try something different. I usually write a lot about "Writing" as a title head where I try to give people ideas of how to deal with their writing in various ways.
"Thinking" will likely be a similar thing where I find myself "Thinking" about different things. One of the more interesting things for me as a retired person is that you tend to have more time to think about things.
Here's what I started thinking about as I got into my hot tub today:
Though I was warm enough in the sun it's also true that when i went to the beach with our corgi to walk her along the beach there were "sneaker" waves one had to watch out for and one got her but not badly but I was able to get just beyond it. Because of a corgi's short legs they don't like to be hit with waves much because they aren't that tall beyond even really small waves on the ocean. But, this wave only went up to at most her chest so she was fine.
When I came back from the walk and got into the hot tub to soak and to think and to write I started thinking about all the trees in my backyard and in neighbor's back yards. As I did this I got a group thought of all the trees that I had never tuned into before. There group thought (trees have group thoughts a lot by the way) was "Why don't you share that water in the Hot Tub with us because it hasn't rained in a few weeks now."
This group thought surprised me because it wasn't one I had heard from trees in my back yard or the neighbor's yards before. I wondered why they were saying this now when they could have said this any time in the last 20 or more years since I lived here and got into this hot tub or the one before we replaced it with this one that was here when we bought the house around 2000 AD.
The main reason I wouldn't share this water in this hot tub with them is it's treated with bromine and might kill some trees (depending upon the tree) if I watered any one tree with this water after it is treated with Bromine.
My cousin uses Salt in his southern California pool but I found out recently I cannot switch to Sodium Chloride in my Hot tub because they have to be specifically designed for using salt instead of Bromine or Chlorine (the two other choices). All the washers and valves have to be specifically designed on a hot tub or pool of you are going to use salt instead of chlorine or Bromine.
I have noticed that the trees in the forests around where I live are tending to be much more unhappy for some reason. It could have something to do with how depressed people are locally because of two years of Covid and other problems too though.
I notice especially the pines that are growing around where I live aren't very happy whereas Redwoods are doing much better and oaks are somewhere in between the Redwoods and Pines in happiness.
I think Redwoods and Oaks might just be tougher and better suited to being near the Pacific coast than the pines are. But, then again it could be that the pines might be in a die off cycle which happens every 20 to 100 years for pines often too where most pines might die off and then a hardier strain might replace the old forest.
