Because one defense Trump might use in court if he is charged with dereliction of duty as a president is that he was mentally incompetent on January 6th and could not properly carry out his duties as president.
So, it is possible that he is working up a good defense for court which might be being mentally incompetent to be president on January 6th 2021.
