The problem in China is much bigger than you think:
Why?
I was listening to an epidemiologist from the U.S. speak about this on CNN today. Because of the way that China has chosen to deal with Covid from the beginning with Zero Covid it has made Chinese people extremely vulnerable because they are not vaccinated with anything useful for the most part.
So, if the Zero Covid Lockdowns were to suddenly end it would naturally cause millions of Covid Deaths in the released people especially those over 65 and those over 45 years of age too.
Because the percentage of deaths in the U.S. broke down like this:
Around 75% of the deaths were over 65
and 21% of the deaths were 45 to 65 in the U.S. both figures.
But, among the zero to 45 year old there were only 4% of the deaths.
If people were released out of zero Covid without vaccinating everyone in China pretty much with MRNA vaccines this could mean millions of deaths in China because we are talking about 500 million to 1 billion unvaccinated people.
In addition this could be a horror story for the whole world because of the permutations from all those millions dying would naturally create new Covid Strains that would hit the rest of the world too.
So, any way you look at this it is a real horror story for China and for the whole world potentially.

I just noticed it's now snowing between California and Oregon
On the video radar map (KSBW) with weather it shows snow coming down in places like Etna,California (just beginning) and also on Interstate 5 between Yreka and Ashland over the Mt.Ashland pass there between California and Oregon.
My friends in Mt. Shasta say that they expect about 2 feet of snow in the little town of Mt. Shasta which likely also means 2 feet of snow on INterstate 5 between the little City of Mt. Shasta and Ashland, Oregon too. So, if you are not driving a 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive or have chains for your drive tires (front or back) you might want to rethink (for your own safety and others) whether you want to be driving anywhere north of Dunsmuir, California or anywhere South of Ashland atleast for today and maybe tomorrow as well. But, if you are adventurous and prepared for anything like many mountain climbers you might be okay as well. Time will tell.
I think Musk might be Libertarian.Being a Libertarian is one of the most basic foundations of our U.S. democracy
If you understand how we started out nothing was secure in that there was no health care and there was no unemployment insurance and basically this was the idea:
You had the freedom to succeed or you had the freedom to die trying to succeed here in the U.S. and people here tried not to interfere with your succeeding (for the most part if you were white).
This was the beginning of our Democracy in a Republic and evolved from this Libertarian philosophy of the fact that you had unlimited Freedom (if you were white) to make a living and to start businesses and to succeed. However, you also had the freedom to die without any medical insurance which mostly didn't exist in the 1600s and 1700s here in the U.S.
We have come a long way since then and in some ways we now resemble more european forms of Democracy with the exception that we don't have cradle to the grave medical insurance (unless you are over 65 years old and have Medicare at that point) which is a lot like the automatic health care for most citizens of Most European countries and places like South Korea as well.
But, in order to have a functioning democracy one MUST have free speech which has withered away to some degree since the 1960s and 1970s since the U.S. has moved in a more liberal direction towards unemployment insurance and Medicare and Social Security etc.
So, now the libertarian ideal of the freedom to be a success or to die trying is somewhat different in this sense.
In the past, one mistake and you were dead. NOW you might have many chances to succeed and to fail.
And unlike Europe for example, you can be educated at any time in your life through public education and some people never stop educating themselves at institutions of higher learning throughout their adult lives.
