Flew back to the mainland Monday

The 4 of us flew back to the mainland near San Francisco today. I was a little worried about takeoff especially after the scary ride and having to land twice to actually stay on the ground from Kauai to Maui a week ago now. However, we took off and it was bumpy but taking off is usually pretty easy in most winds. It's only landing that can get really scary in wind shears usually. But, I suppose if the winds were bad enough you might crash on takeoff too especially on the Hawaiian islands where Pilots are sent to learn to take off and land in Wind shears especially on Maui. But, at least two times I have had a scary landing, one on Maui and one on Kauai where we landed sideways 3 years ago and luckily the pilot had fast reflexes on the pedals so we didn't crash that day. It was very close that we survived that 3 years ago.

So, basically today the flight was uneventful except for likely flying over a storm we had 20 to 30 minutes when it was so bumpy you didn't want anything in your drink or on your plate because it might go onto the floor.

So, mostly the flight went well and all returned home safely to San Jose Airport this time. We landed at about 10 pm so by the time we drove the man back home who was watching my friends home north of us it was very late when we arrived back home on the northern California coast.

Anyway, It's good to return safely home after a great trip to Kauai and Maui in Hawaii.
