The good news is that neither Santa Barbara or Santa Maria (are presently) in danger of burning up in this fire.
The bad news is that 34,000 acres have already burned in this fire. I think this is the biggest fire of the fire season in California so far.
Also, the bad news is that the smoke from the fire has been blotting out the sun in Santa Barbara for at least two days. The people vacationing in our Santa Barbara house took pictures and texted them to us showing this.
