Enlightenment helps prevent human extinction between now and 2100 AD

 How does one become enlightened so one and their children and grandchildren and so on survive past 2100AD?

I think living out in the country away from big cities might help and going to college and studying whatever you are interested in are two of the biggest helpers of enlightenment.

However, if you don't have a joy of learning like I do college might not be useful to you. Just going to college because your parents want you to isn't very useful even if you learn a trade. Why?

Because you are not learning enough of the right things that you need to to survive the rest of this century on earth.

For example, studying Philosophy, psychology, Social Sciences and Anthropology will actually help you more surviving this century than more technical things like Medicine and Law. So, even though this knowledge is useful too, we are going to have robotic and computer forms that will do both medicine and Law much better than human beings through AI systems worldwide.

And likely robots tapped into AI worldwide will treat illnesses better and faster in almost all weather situations or rain or snow situations because many of them are impervious to the weather. Whereas most people this is not true of.

So, having a well rounded education likely will help you and your children and grandchildren more than anything else I can think of.

Another survival tool is compassion for yourself and all other beings on earth and beyond.

This will not only save your life but the lives of those all around you (at least the people that want to and choose to stay alive on going).

One has to be happy enough to survive here on earth and until I realized this during my early and late 20s I couldn't stay alive until I was finding reasons I wanted to stay alive and by happy in my life.

Without enough happiness (real happiness in one's life) often means people self medicate eventually to death or take risks like motorcycles or racing cars or hang gliding or flying para-gliders or rock climbing (any one of which or all might increase one's risk of an early death.

So, learning compassion both for yourself and all life around you is one of the major keys to enlightenment along with a good well rounded education.
