I don't think Tariffs instead of the IRS will work simply because tariffs in the form of sanctions caused the attack on pearl Harbor

The Economic sanction against Japan receiving any oil at all from the U.S. led directly to the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 which brought the U.S. suddenly out of an isolationist stance and at war with both Japan and Germany who were then allied together.

So, economic tariffs and Economic Sanctions (both basically the same thing) in the present world era tend to create bloody wars rather than whatever their intended effect might be.

So, Trump's reliance on Tariffs and Economic Sanctions likely will just lead to economic or even bloody wars around the world against the U.S. even from countries that were once our friends but no more like Europe and Canada and Mexico.

Trump is presently digging a hole to bury the U.S. into so deep I'm very concerned about our future as a nation at this point.
