At the time I thought the U.S. was going to go bankrupt from the expense of the Viet Nam War. However, what I didn't know at the time was that we had helped countries like Germany, Japan and others rebuild after World war II so this made other countries want to help us.
I personally was dealing with 10% unemployment at the time so I decided to invest in land and build my own A-Frame for my family so we didn't have to pay rent which saved us even in 1980 to 1985 about 60,000 Dollars in rent. And the land (without electricity or phone) was only 8000 dollars at the time (you wouldn't find that now because of the Advance of Solar Cells and they are much less to install efficiently than then. So, you can now have electricity and cell phones almost anywhere on earth that there is sun and cell reception. Also, there were no Satellite phones except for the military then either that I know of.
So, if anything serious happened you had to drive a minimum of 10 to 20 miles to the nearest gas station or small city.
Since a lot of you are freaking out and thinking of moving to another country or out in the woods in a prepper kind of domicile (above or below ground) I thought I would share what I found today.
