Why is this?
Because of the last 25,000 years of burning fossil fuels of one kind or another. For example, right not all physical life forms on earth contain some microplastics. Microplastics now reside in human brains and in mother's breast milk and even in placentas. So, literally every baby born already contains some plastic in it's body. There is no living thing on earth now that doesn't contain some microplastic.
However, even if all life on earth survives the amount of plastic residing in their bodies during the next 300 years most people will either starve to death or drown or be burned up or blown away in the winds between 100 to 300 miles per hour that will likely be everywhere on earth at least 1 day a year to the point where it is likely that all wooden structures will be blown away by 100 to 300 years from now actually no matter what anyone does (that is presently know) (except for maybe time travel).
So, it used to be wars and famines that killed off more people or plagues of various kinds. However, the next few centuries most people will die of floods, droughts, fires or starvation caused by floods droughts, or fires or earthquakes.
So, preparing your family for floods, droughts, fires or starvation during these next 100 to 300 years might be important to prepare for for everyone on earth at this time. (or at least psychologically prepare to find ways to survive all this.
One way might be to build homes into the sides of mountains or building underground homes not in flood plains unless you are building a submarine underground house that would be waterproof from flooding or something like this.
However, it's sort of like the Boy Scout Motto: Be PREPARED
