At 11 AM it's 52 degrees here which is pretty cold for the coast

Though it was 70 degrees or more some days in Santa Barbara it is quite a switch to much colder weather on the coast nearer to San Francisco. But, I suppose this close to the shortest day in the year this should be expected.

The lake in Santa Barbara that was dry coming home from Austria about a month ago now is full from the 10 inches of rain that fell in a few hours. So, even though there was flooding there (even my wife's bank was flooded) it also did more good than damage for Southern California water wise because the drought has been going on there for some time now.

Northern California has been more okay for longer than Southern California but at this point even the north could use some more rain. A friend of mine in Mt. Shasta was saying how dry it's been this year in Mt. Shasta this fall.
