Culkin is remembering his 'Home Alone' mom, Catherine O'Hara. Sharing
an image from his 2023 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, he wrote:
"Mama.
I thought we had time.
I wanted more.
I wanted to sit in a chair next to you.
I heard you.
But I had so much more to say.
I love you.
I’ll see you later."
Catherine died Friday at her home in Los Angeles following a brief
illness. She was 71.

O’Hara, the screen icon known for roles in Home Alone and Schitt’s
Creek, has passed away at 71 😔🖤
Her manager confirmed the tragic news to Variety. At the time of
writing, a cause of death has not been confirmed.
While O’Hara built a legendary career spanning decades, from her early
work on Coming Up Rosie and Second City Television to roles in
Beetlejuice, Home Alone and Christopher Guest’s cult mockumentaries, she
was best known to LGBTQIA+ audiences for her portrayal of Moira Rose in
Schitt’s Creek.
The role earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress
in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, and
cemented her status as a queer cultural icon.
In a 2019 interview with Gay Times, O’Hara said LGBTQIA+ people “are the
best kind of people”.
