I lived in Mt. Shasta starting in 1974 for a few months then 1976 to 1978 then 1980 to 1985 and finally 1990 to 1992 when I came back from Maui

Why didn't I stay there completely from 1974 to the present?

Because if you are a single person living there might be easy. But then, with a family (my 2nd wife and I was raising 4 children at one point) it gets quite expensive. I found owning one or more businesses was the way to go but I found running these businesses from Mt. Shasta problematic.

However, if it's just you and maybe a significant other you might find a way to support yourself there even if you have to drive an hour each way every day to work in Redding or Yreka.

However, I wasn't willing to do this because I preferred to be in mt. Shasta all the time.

Being all the time in Mt. Shasta was always my church and where I could talk to God the easiest.
