Maybe it's because they want to dumb down the Users further and further to continue to manipulate users more and more.
This kind of thing has been happening (at least since home computers were invented starting around 1980 when the public began to be more a part of the computer world. Later this also happening with the Internet and likely the dumbing down of the users (public in general) will continue with AI as well.
