This is way deeper than it sounds. Why?
Because what you think at all times affects your subconscious mind and your subconscious mind is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old. So, if you don't care for your 2 year old you tend to die or go crazy pretty young.
One could look at my life and say, "OH that poor man almost died from Whooping cough and a concussion at age 2 and from 10 to 15 years old."
But, what I have to say about that is the these are part of what made me the man I am now which I find is emotionally and often mentally and physically stronger than 90 to 99 Percent of the people I meet. Why?
Because I survived all the serious illnesses of my life and didn't die like most people would have. That's why.
Understanding this for me is everything, especially for someone like me that watched everyone dying around me especially in my church from birth until I left the church in 1969. But, there were also amazing people who lived to 106 years old in this church too like Stella who lead this church until the very end of her life when she was 106 years old.
So, even in this church (as in real life everywhere) there is this incredible paradox of people that you meet where some live to be 106 and totally live their religion 24 hours a day always and some are just too screwed up for anyone or anything or any church to actually help them survive anything.
So, this one reason why life is such a paradox for people in general. Some will survive and some won't.
I had a friend of my then wife's and I during the 1980s. My ex-wife had helped start his church I think he called: "The Gathering of the Way" and he had been district attorney in Santa Cruz County before he became a Jesuit Priest and at a certain point he was the priest of the Hippies in Santa Barbara during the 1960s and likely early 1970s as well. He had about a 200 IQ and spoke and wrote 20 languages proficiently. So, he was a very interesting man to talk to about Spiritual things because he had traveled all over the world especially Europe and Israel because he spoke all these different mostly European languages.
He told me the percentages of people who tend to survive in life and he broke them down into 3 groups.
The first group is those who are going to survive no matter what happens to them in their lives.
The 2nd Group is those who will survive if they get enough help.
And the third Group is those who aren't going to succeed or survive no matter what you do to help them.
and he broke all these groups of people into being about 1/3 of the people each.
So, since then I have noticed pretty much he is right. So, I always tend to look for people who are going to survive with enough help because there are the ones who are going to survive no matter what and then there are the ones who aren't going to survive no matter what you do to try to help them.
So, it is about being both kind and practical in the use of your time regarding all these things.
