I began to learn this through my 20s. The basis of Tribes and cities and countries has always been compassion for each other and often this comes through religions and churches over thousands of years especially since people started growing food which people started to do about 11,000 or 12,000 years ago and then they stopped so much being Hunter Gatherers and traveling all the time to survive.
So, this compassion of people for each other especially in families and extended families in tribes and then this expanded to cities and to countries allowed civilization to flourish many places on earth.
However, as an individual this works too as Compassion for yourself and all beings in the universe works to help not only you but all life forms in the universe as well.
I was interested but likely it's not practical at this point about a woman in Australia saying she needed time to get used to her new pet sort of like people being given time to get used to a new baby in a family.
However, this doesn't make a lot of sense to me unless women are going to stop having as many babies (which is already happening a lot in Europe, the U.S., Japan and China and South Korea and many other cultures around the world.
So, many people are replacing having babies because they are just too expensive to raise with Gas and food prices this high in the world and instead they are getting dogs or cats which are much less expensive to take care of (or can be) than raising children, feeding them, schooling them, training them, entertaining them, and finally sending them off to college and hoping they can succeed in life so you don't have to support them the rest of your life.
So, I think as long as gas and diesel prices stay as high as they are around the world people have no choice but to stop having babies or they are just going to go bankrupt with a life of suffering.
Unfortunately, Trump is the death of people being able to afford to have babies anywhere on earth at this point in time.
So, what is enlightenment? It's being enlightened enough to realize what I'm saying here is true for one thing.
However, everyone obviously is going to have their own opinion about all of this too.
