The first business I owned was a Landscape Contracting business

How does one start a business?

the above link you might find useful if you want to start another busines or your first one. end note.

So, first I got my Landscape Contractor's License through Sacramento which is the state Capitol of California. Then I had buddies who were also Landscaping Contractors that I knew from the Summit Lighthouse in Del Mar, California at that time. We did a lot of work in La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe where many rich people live so there was a lot of money to be made there then from the late 1970s.

However, then I moved to Mt. Shasta and my new wife and I bought another business which was a mail order business and one of things I made in the garage there at the house we were renting on an acre of land was of all things "Sleigh Bells" for Horses pulling sleighs in the snow among many other things. However, most things I bought wholesale and sold retail but I did make the sleighbells by ordering the bells and rivets and leather straps for the horses to wear while jingling all the way home. :)

One of my friends who has a music recording studio in California still has a few bell sets I made as musical instruments for recording sometimes.

What did I learn from being a Landscape Contractor?

I learned I liked owning businesses better than working for other people most.

But, I didn't like being a Contractor because sometimes you have to be so hard nosed whereas I'm usually a really nice guy and I don't like to have to be that way partly because I'm on a spiritual path not the path of someone in the military or a soldier like I have been in other lifetimes I have lived between now and the Time of Christ worldwide. I remember many of these lifetimes quite well and the thing I'm likely the most proud of in this lifetime is that I haven't had to kill anyone because then you are haunted by the ghosts of everyone you killed the rest of your lives.

So, owning businesses is something I and my father and my uncle and my grandfather and my cousin are all good at. It seems like a family trait to want to work for yourself rather than someone else.

We are all free thinkers who think for ourselves which makes a good business owner too.
