Those of us that the Galaxy needs to be here to prevent human extinction and the extinction of all life on earth seem to be protected by the galaxy

I think the best way to think about this would be to say that some of us are sort of like Earth Galactic Park Rangers and that humans are one of the life forms in the Galactic National Park that resemble deer more than anything else. So, the galaxy protects many of us through Time Alteration to protect the integrity of Galactic Park Earth that has been ongoing as a Galactic national park sort of like Yosemite and Yellowstone and Teton national parks.

But, the main difference is that Earth Galactic Park has existed in this form for at least 100 million years so far.

This might be important for everyone to remember in these situations.
