Because if you look at a globe or full map of the world there is only really one big ocean and say you start in the Mediterranean ocean and come out into the Atlantic Ocean you can go to the north pole and still be in the same ocean on the same boat or ship. Then if the North Pole is melted out you can then sail or voyage to Canada and Alaska on the way to Asia to Vladovostok and Japan and South Korea and China and then you can sail to California if you want to and then you can sail to Hawaii and Tahiti and Australia or wherever you want to in what is sometimes Called "Oceania" nearer to Australia and New Zealand and you can sail East to the Atlantic Ocean again if you want to as well to return to the Mediterranean ocean if you want to as well or stop off in the Red Sea or Strait of HOrmuz or the Suez Canal.
Then you could sail from the Mediterranean ocean to the Panama Canal and visit the Pacific Ocean from there too.
It's all basically one ocean as you can see by taking your boat or ship all over the world.
IT'S ALL ONE OCEAN.
