October 18: The internet is changing.
We're sorry we've made several attempts to reach you. It's Sunday, October 18, and Wikipedia is seeing fewer readers this year so your visit means a lot. If everyone reading this gave $2.75
today, we'd hit our goal quickly. Most readers don't donate; only 2%
do. Wikipedia is run by a nonprofit, not by a billionaire. So if
Wikipedia has given you $2.75 worth of knowledge, please give. Any contribution helps, whether it's $2.75 or $25.
End quote from Wikipedia.
I try to donate about 100 dollars a year because I often use Wikipedia as a source for a lot of my research here at intuitivefred888 and I have been doing this as long as I knew Wikipedia existed.
People have many different points of view about Wikipedia because there are so many different points of view represented here in many different ways. However, generally speaking I can find the information I'm looking for (like a worldwide Encyclopedia in an instant which is very satisfying for me.
Because I remember wanting to know things in the 1950s when I was 8 to 10 years old or older and I often couldn't find my answers anywhere. this was extremely frustrating for a child 8 to 12 years old. I could get on my bicycle and ride it to the library but at least 50% of the time I couldn't find the answers to my questions there either.
It's one reason why I enjoy blogging these days because I can find some answer (or group of answers) to almost any questions I now have here in 2026.
Also, if you have a smartphone and you are a 9 year old child now you have access to more useful information now than President Clinton had access to as President of the United States in the 1990s!
This is an amazing statement simply because it's absolutely true!
