One of the Biggest changes to society in the 1960s was the introduction of the Birth Control Pill in 1960. This changed the world a lot.

Especially women who had been raped or who had date rape (which was the most common reason women married before this) were upset because this gave women who used the pill completely sexual freedom in their lives if they used the Birth Control Pill. So, the behavior of women 12 or over who were still fertile completely changed starting in 1960 nationwide and then worldwide to a great degree. The Cultural Revolution of the late 1960s likely would not have happened the way it did without the introduction of the birth Control Pill in 1960 where people could go to the drug store and get it and not get pregnant anymore if they didn't want to get pregnant. So, this culturally changed everything for people from what life had been for thousands of years before this happened which partly created the Cultural Revolution of the late 1960s too!
