The Reason Hydrogen Fusion (like the Sun) here on earth is important

 China and the U.S. will start building hydrogen Fusion Electrical Generators by 2027 to 2030. 

So, the long sought after Holy Grail of Hydrogen Fusion is finally here in Reality!

Why is this so important?

First of all, Oil is running out all over the world. There likely are no new oil reserves beyond those that have already been found already. And most of the oil likely should be used for making plastic or there won't be an new plastics made unless they are made of vegetable fibers. 

so, Oil of all kinds is sort of on it's way out because it likely all might be gone this century or sooner.

Then the next thing people were interested in has been splitting water into hydrogen and Oxygen and using the Hydrogen but that's a problem because once you separate the hydrogen from the oxygen and burn the Hydrogen then it's gone and any bi-product (exhaust becomes water again). However, it's not the same water because now the oxygen is either up in the atmosphere by itself or in some kind of oxygen tank somewhere and when it is released it usually isn't water anymore but just Oxygen or O2. Then there is the problem caused by heat causing O1 which is Ozone because Oxygen is actually O2 not O1.

Wind generation is good too and water generation (waterfalls and dams is good too). However, if you look at places like the Hoover Dam near Las Vegas that is an electrical Generating station the Colorado river is at it's lowest point in history so that dam cannot really generate electricity with this little water anymore either and Colorado the State in 95% in Drought right now too which is partly why there is not much water in the Colorado River for Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, or California.

The point is hydrogen fusion will solve a lot of energy problems here on earth because it is as efficient as the sun is in converting Hydrogen to fusion like the Sun. So, what a hydrogen fusion generator likely is now is an artificial sun in a controlled environment. However, it isn't dangerous in the same way that Atomic power is dangerous because hydrogen fusion is more like a Star here on earth than anything else.

Will there be problems with Hydrogen Fusion?

Yes. Likely there will be but they won't be radiation problems but likely controlling the fusion reaction so it doesn't get out of hand and turn the whole planet into a sun or star.

So, there are lessons to be learned likely about how to control hydrogen fusion electrical Generators to make them more safe. But, radiation is not one of the problems of Hydrogen fusion, the problems will be completely different than that.
