He was raised to believe he could never say he was wrong as a matter of pride. This is a very Victorian point of view where a man's word cannot be questioned even if he is lying. Duels were often fought over this kind of thing because almost everyone lied a lot back then even though lying doesn't work as well during the Internet age for a variety of reasons.
So, 100,000 to 120,000 Americans or more have died simply because Trump cannot admit he was wrong on pain of death (the way he was taught in a victorian way by his father to think).
Trying to use a Victorian male point of view in the Internet Era I would say is basically suicidal. Most people realize this. Because Trump doesn't one cannot consider Trump to be sane. Because someone who keeps doing something that doesn't work over and over again is the very definition of being insane. Look it up.
A sane person once they realize they are wrong changes how they do things. So, Trump is the very definition of being insane (sort of like how Hitler was insane too).
